Milladdio is an idiosyncratic figurative painter, who works mostly within the areas of kitsch and iconic imagery. He is interested in the composition (weight and balance) of his paintings and seeks to draw forth from the viewer an emotive response such as accessing memories of travels or childhood, from the content of the images.
Many of the heads in his paintings are proportionally much bigger than the bodies and often certain characters stand aside from other figurative groups. Milladdio does this to reflect the practice centuries ago, when painters undertook to identify prominent sponsors in their commissions.
A number of paintings on this site were produced using mixed media, including Caran D'ache Neocolour II crayon from Switzerland. The site includes a number of early works to offer a linear history to the development of the artist's style, but on the whole the majority of the paintings have been produced using the aforementioned crayons.
